Jacobs Engineering Group has won a contract of an undisclosed value to provide front-end engineering and design services for an upstream coal seam gas project run by QGC in Australia.
QGC, a subsidiary of BG Group PLC, seeks to further develop infrastructures for supporting the transfer of coal seam gas to QGC’s natural liquefied gas conversion facility on Curtis Island, Queensland, Jacobs said Tuesday.
Jacobs will perform concept study and pre-FEED work on production well pads, a gathering system to collect produced fluids and field compressor terminals.
“We look forward to combining our global CSG experience with our Australian project delivery capability to support QGC in achieving their strategic objectives for this critical project,” said Tom Quinn, Jacob group vice president.
QGC’s project is slated to deliver hydrocarbon energy to international markets beginning 2014.
