Praescient Analytics used an analytics platform provided by Recorded Future to acquire open source information on an ongoing humanitarian crisis in Jordan and Syria and will present the results at a conference Thursday in Washington’s Newseum.
Praescient monitored social media posts, news, studies, blogs and other available sources from Recorded Future with a goal of understanding state leaders’ motives and actions through crises, Praescient said Tuesday.
The crisis arose after Syrian refugees arrived on Jordanian soil due to the current civil war in Syria.
Jordan is portraying the refugees perpetual dependents as the country aims to access to foreign aid, provide basic necessities to the displaced individuals and offset possible impacts on Jordan’s resources.
At the same time, Jordan has experienced civil unrest due to economic austerity measures and concern over whether Jordan would be able to care for Syrian refugees, Praescient said.
