Verizon Enterprise Solutions has joined Pivotal’s Cloud Foundry Community Advisory Board in an effort to help application developers and businesses adopt cloud foundry.
The company intends to expand its cloud services and help customers develop business software and applications through Pivotal’s cloud foundry, Verizon said Tuesday.
John Harrobin, chief marketing officer of Verizon Enterprise Solutions, said the company intends for the cloud foundry to help clients deliver applications and fulfill business requirements using Verizon’s cloud.
Verizon recently signed the Cloud Foundry license agreement and has been coordinating with other contributors to further the adoption of open source.
It also intends to provide engineering services for the Cloud Foundry project, Verizon says.
The company launched Verizon Cloud in October and will roll out the service to the public in the fourth quarter of 2013.
