Big Data, AppsXyratex Ltd. has introduced a fresh addition to its high-performance computing and big data storage offering in an effort to help customers fulfill computing requirements.

The ClusterStor 9000 works to yield more than 60 gigabytes per second per rack and features applications for the oil and gas, financial services, genomics and intelligence customers, Xyratex said Nov. 19.

Ken Claffey, Xyratex senior vice president and general manager of the ClusterStor business, said the ClusterStor 9000 engineered system is built for customers to recover from disruptions and minimize downtime through parallel file systems.

Xyratex also unveiled other updates to the ClusterStor platform and operating system such as the ClusterStor Grid RAID for maintaining peak performance, ClusterStor Data Integrity Enhancements for securing sensitive data and ClusterStor Manager for displaying the storage system condition.

New features added to ClusterStor are ClusterStor Flash Accelerator, ClusterStor CIFS / NFS Gateway and Lustre Version 2.5 Enhancements that are meant to help manage multiple files and integrate application workflows.

ClusterStor 9000 will be rolled out in 2014 through Xyratex partners.
