Cloud Computing, ExecutiveBizAmazon Web Services has partnered with search engine Impala to help customers query their big data sets, VentureBeat reported Friday.

Jordan Novet writes Impala is based on Hadoop Distributed File System, an open source program designed to manage large volumes of data.

Cloudera, a Hadoop distribution company, built the engine with a wide base of SQL query languages for users, according to the report.

Impala aims to complement AWS' Elastic MapReduce product for handling big data stored in a public cloud platform, VentureBeat reports.
