BMC Software has unveiled a cloud-based applications store for customers to deliver their brands to the marketplace in a shorter timeframe.
The BMC Marketplace features user interface and automated purchase tracking systems designed for companies to use for marketing mobile, cloud, custom and desktop apps, BMC said Tuesday.
Kia Behnia, chief technology officer at BMC, said the app store is intended to help reduce time-to-market for clients to deploy software services.
“Speed-to-market in the cloud is critical as more and more businesses seek to monetize customer interests online and offer value-added partners new channels to market,” Behnia added.
BMC Marketplace also provides publishing tools and vendor approval workflows and intends to help customers to monetize app offerings through the online store’s lead generation and transaction processing features.
Technology research firm Gartner projects that 25 percent of enterprises will build their own app store by 2017, according to BMC.
