Harris CapRock Communications Inc. has been selected to centralize telecommunications systems for oil production platforms of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd.
Harris CapRock will work to design, consolidate and evaluate telecommunication systems, install cables at various locations worldwide and provide commissioning services for the Mafumeira Sul project near the coast of Angola, Harris CapRock said Monday.
Anthony Seo, DSME procurement manager, said the company intends for the communications services to address the requirements for the exploration and production operations.
The Mafumeira Sul project comprises various production assets located 15 miles from the Cabinda province’s coast and is the second development phases.
The oil exploration stage is also scheduled to complete in 2015, as well as the daily production of 110,000 barrels of crude oil and 10,000 barrels of liquefied petroleum gas.
“DSME plays a key role in the future of major oil field production through the integrity of its construction and design work,” said Tracey Haslam, president of global energy services at Harris CapRock Communications.
