IBM Opens Kenya Technology Research Hub - top government contractors - best government contracting event

IBMlogo3 EbizIBM has opened a new research laboratory in Kenya that will focus on developing information and communications technology for local deployment, NTV Kenya reported.

The facility housed at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa in the Nairobi capital will serve as IBM Research's headquarters for the African region.

The lab, inaugurated by Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta on Nov. 8, is IBM’s 12th such facility in the world.

According to the report, the facility's location attests to strong business confidence to invest in the country.

Kenyatta also noted the impact that establishing an IBM lab could have on Kenya's Vision 2030 economic transformation blueprint for growth.
