An Intel Corp. subsidiary has acquired New York-based Hacker League, a platform that developers use to build application programming interfaces for commercial and non-commercial uses, The Next Web reported Tuesday.
Martin Bryant writes Mashery intends for the acquisition to build up the hackathon management platform provider for both the developers and hackathon organizers.
“Things will only continue to get better now that Hacker League has the commitment of an organization like Mashery behind it,“ Mike Swift, co-founder of Hacker League, told TNW.
Hackathon serves as an avenue for companies to collaborate with the developer community in order to develop new APIs for their brands, according to the report.
