Jacobs Engineering Group has won a three-year, framework management contract to provide Horizon Nuclear Power with engineering assistance for two nuclear energy generation facilities in the U.K.
The company will develop plans and investigate the power station sites at Oldbury in South Gloucestershire and Wylfa on the Isle of Anglesey, Jacobs said Tuesday.
Conor Doyle, vice president at Jacobs Group, said the company will support Horizon’s plans for new nuclear power plants meant to meet socio-economic sustainability goals.
Jacobs will work with three more Horizon partners to assist with environmental permits and waste management and to prepare the two existing sites for the new facilities.
The construction services company has worked with Horizon since 2010 and has assisted with lifecycle of nuclear assets for more than 50 years.
