Parsons2Parsons has contributed $100,000 to support a Cal Poly program for training students to become future cybersecurity professionals.

The investment will be distributed over a two-year period starting in 2014, the company announced Tuesday.

Deb Larson, Cal Poly dean of the College of Engineering, said that Parsons’ contributions will be used to hire the Cybersecurity Center’s director.

In connection with the partnership, Parsons will serve as a member of the Cal Poly Cybersecurity Council that comprises of industry experts and faculty that will work to ensure that the college’s students cyber skills are aligned with industry needs.

“Given our expertise in defense, intelligence, and cybersecurity and the increasing demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals, supporting Cal Poly“™s cyber program is aligned with our Parsons Gives Back program,” said Tim Potier, Parsons“™ chief security officer.
