Robert Smith, vice president and chief financial officer at General Dynamics subsidiary Jet Aviation since July 2012, will elevate to the role of president on Jan. 1, 2014.
He will report to Joseph Lombardo, executive vice president of General Dynamics’ aerospace group, announced Dec. 6.
Smith has also served as a vice president of the NASSCO subsidiary and joined General Dynamics in 1989 with a role at the Electric Boat subsidiary.
Smith succeeds Clare, who has been appointed CFO for Gulfstream Aerospace, another General Dynamics subsidiary.
Clare has led Jet Aviation as president since 2011 and will succeed Jason Aiken, who was named General Dynamics’ senior vice president and CFO.
