Siemens has unveiled hardware and software technologies intended to boost efficiency and productivity in the manufacturing industry.
The company showcased the Totally Integrated Automation Portal, Simotics FD motor series and Energy Analytics service under the theme “Making Things Right” at the SPS IPC Drives event in Nuremberg, Germany, Siemens said Tuesday.
“Our role is to support our customers as they work towards the vision of Industrie 4.0—and its cyber-physical systems—by providing components of our Digital Enterprise Platform which are already available today,” said Ralf-Michael Franke, CEO of drive technologies at Siemens.
“Siemens is working to achieve on-going integration of the real and the virtual worlds from product development through to production, resulting in the systematic expansion of its Digital Enterprise Platform,” Franke added.
The company built the 13th version of the TIA engineering framework in order to add a new Simatic S7-1500 controller processor, monitors with multi-touch gesture support and other components to improve the TIA portfolio.
Thomas Schott, head of factory automation at Siemens industry automation, said the TIA-Portal is intended to help companies automate operations, lower cost and boost development process.
The Energy Analytics data management service is built to offer different service packages to provide businesses with power consumption information and to help identify means to save energy.
The service is also created to supply simple to detailed energy reports and to help meet compliance standards.
