VMware and Palo Alto Networks are co-developing a network security tool to monitor intra-server traffic between virtual machines, the Virtualization Review reported Monday.

The companies aim to VMware“™s NSX virtualized network platform and Palo Alto“™s network security tool and Panorama centralized management software.
Another goal of the collaboration is permit the information technology administrator to automate provisioning of network services and protection against cyber attacks.
The new security platform is currently in beta form and slated for an early 2014 rollout.
