Seattle City Light intends to use Oracle’s products to fulfill customer support, operational and cost requirements in the utility’s metering business, Oracle said Tuesday.

“A key factor in our Oracle selection was that its solutions enabled us to purchase what we needed now, and build on that foundation for new initiatives,” said Dirk Mahling, chief information officer at Seattle City Light.

PwC will help implement Oracle platforms such as Utilities Customer Care and Billing, Smart Grid Gateway and Business Intelligence for Utilities for the electricity provider.
