TetraTechLogoTetra Tech is building a high school in rural Zambia that will focus on science, technology, engineering and math with the support of nonprofit organization Engineers Without Borders.

Tetra Tech’s employees raised $11,210 in two days for the school, based in the town of Lumwana, where many youth only stay in school through ninth grade, the company said in a video uploaded Friday.

The company and EWB used the funds to hire local contractors to build the school using materials found and developed locally to save on costs.

The project is scheduled for completion within six months and is intended to build on a partnership between Tetra Tech and EWB that has acquired nearly $500,000 in donations and grants, the company said.
