DMI, Mobile Active Defense Forge Enterprise Data Security Alliance; Rick Doten Comments

mobile, tablet, device, mobilityDigital Management Inc. has partnered with Mobile Active Defense to deliver an enterprise security offering for customers to protect both active and inactive files that are stored in mobile devices.

The companies seek to help clients address mobile data security and virtual private network connection issues through the alliance, DMI said Monday.

DMI will host the technology platform as part of a suite that includes mobile device and application management, provisioning, monitoring and integration services, according to the article.

Rick Doten, DMI chief information and security officer, said the partnership was formed to combine Mobile Active Defense’s software products and DMI’s managed mobility services.

Mobile Active Defense offers a VPN server that is built with firewall, content filtering, access control and public key infrastructure features.

The company’s Mobile Enterprise Compliance and Security server works to stop mobile threats form infiltrating data at rest and data in transit, according to the article.

Brian Harrell, former assistant secretary for infrastructure protection at the Department of Homeland Security, has joined the board of advisers of Bethesda, Maryland-based cybersecurity firm CyVision Technologies. He served as the first assistant director for infrastructure security at DHS' Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and is the chief security officer at energy company Avangrid.
