Grant-thornton-logoGrant Thornton has been awarded a contract to evaluate an Armenian government project aimed at preserving fish stock at trout farms in Lake Sevan, ARKA News Agency reported Thursday.

Armenia’s government will invest up to $162 million in the trout restoration program through 2023, according to the report.

The goal is to increase the commercial harvest of trouts at the lake to 50,000 tons a year during the next decade, according to the article.

ARKA News Agency reports 75 percent of fresh, canned and frozen products from the trout farm are exported to international markets.
