northrop-Grumman_BLUENorthrop Grumman will collaborate with several Australia-based companies on aerospace and defense projects as part of efforts to bolster the company’s presence in the country.

The U.S. contractor awarded a number of subcontracts to businesses through a global supply chain deed program run by the Australian Defence Materiel Organisation, Northrop said Wednesday.

“Awards to these outstanding Australian suppliers show the full breadth of our commitment to Australian industry and their development of world class capabilities,” said Ian Irving, CEO of Northrop’s Australian business.

Northrop has partnered with Ferra Engineering Pty. Ltd. on the F-18 fighter jet program and has worked with Electro Optic Space System on a space debris research project.

Other Northrop Australia partners include Ultra Electronics, iWebgate Technology and Sentient Vision Systems.
