IBMlogo3 EbizIBM will conduct cybersecurity research for Australia’s Defense Science and Technology Organization as the country aims to bolster its cyber infrastructure, ARN reported Monday.

Brian Karlovsky writes IBM and the DSTO will collaborate on cybersecurity, analytics and cognitive computing research work.

Glenn Wightwick, director of IBM Research Australia, said the company intends to contribute to the Australian military’s cyber defense capabilities, according to the report.

Stuart Robert, Australia’s assistant defense ministry, said the military selected IBM as a partner to help address the country’s national security requirements.

Alex Zelinsky, Australia’s chief defense scientist, and Wightwick signed the agreement in Canberra on Monday.
