mobile, tablet, device, mobilityMobileIron has been named a mobile device and application management tools supplier to federal customers under a mobility initiative run by the General Services Administration.

The company has served as a subcontractor to Digital Management Inc. for the Defense Information Systems Agency‘s MDM/MAS project, MobileIron said Tuesday.

The GSA’s Managed Mobility Program is designed to offer government agencies a range of platforms for managing devices and apps.

“This recognition by the GSA shows that we understand the particular security requirements that government agencies face as they plan to migrate off BlackBerry and adopt iOS and Android,” said Bob Tinker, CEO of MobileIron.

“We are proud of our track record in helping government agencies become Mobile First organizations where people can move faster, be more innovative, and actively engage with their constituents, Tinker added.
