Sonya Cork of Verizon Named to TechAmerica Public Sector Board of Directors; Shawn Osborne Comments

verizon logo_GovconexecSonya Cork, Verizon Enterprise Solutions vice president of public sector markets, has been appointed to the TechAmerica public sector board of directors, TechAmerica said Wednesday.

The public sector board focuses on issues that are of the most importance to federal and state government contractors, according to TechAmerica.

“Sonya brings an extensive background in the world of government contracting that will help inform the policy positions we take on behalf of our membership,” said Cork, president and CEO of TechAmerica.

“TechAmerica is unique in that, our board members from across the expanse of our membership can influence the direction of our activities,” Osborne added.

Cork, a 26-year industry veteran, is responsible for business development and sales activities for defense and national security customers in her current role at Verizon.

“Cloud, mobility and cybersecurity are transforming the business of government,” said Cork.

“By identifying potential supply chain and procurement reforms that will help pave the way for broader use, the power of technology can be unlocked to enable new and more efficient ways of delivering government services,” she added.
