CellTowerTeleCommunication Systems will work with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to develop algorithmic models for transmitting mobile-based emergency warnings to the public.

TCS and DHS’ science and technology directorate will research new techniques to manage cellular radio frequency coverage of national wireless emergency alert systems, TCS said Thursday.

“We are dedicated to the success of the WEA program and to the continued improvement of geo-targeted and precise alerts through all available mediums,” said Keith Bhatia, vice president for mobility solutions at TCS’ commercial software group.

The company has participated in sessions to work on WEA-related standards since 2008.
