MBDA Land Combat Missile Goes Through Firing Test

MBDA has moved to validate the safety use of its new land combat missile system through a confined-environment demonstration.

The company exhibited the firing technology of the Missile Moyenne Portée at MBDA’s test facility in central France, MBDA said Thursday.

The missile system was test-fired under various temperatures to evaluate its function in different conditions and theaters.

MBDA built the MMP to destroy ground targets at ranges of up to 2.5 miles.

Test warheads also launched to target new Main Battle Tanks during the demonstration, MBDA said.
