Cubic Corp.’s defense systems segment has won contract worth at least $12 million contract to provide training and maintenance services for the Italian army.

Cubic Defense Systems will work to develop home station counter-improvised explosive device training resources and establish an instrumented collective combat training center, Cubic said Friday.

Dave Schmitz, president of Cubic Defense Systems, said the company intends to help Italy’s military prepare for combat, as well as to modernize the service life of training systems.

The home station training resource is set for delivery to 16 sites across Italy and to a regional training center.
