electronic health record EHRAmazon Web Services has been selected by the Obama administration to host cloud computing functions on the federally-run health insurance exchange portal, FCW reported Tuesday.

Adam Mazmanian writes that HealthCare.gov is undergoing a technical makeover to address glitches and feature new user tools when the next enrollment period commences in November.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said testing of the revamped marketplace is scheduled to occur this summer, according to FCW.

Mazmanian writes the portal will implement an insurance comparison tool, an identity management technology and a platform designed to simplify the application process.

The site is also being redesigned to help applicants to enroll for coverage through the EZ App, according to FCW.
