TerremarkLogoEnterprises adopting cloud should consider more than just the IT aspect when looking for a cloud service provider so that they can optimize their cloud strategy, Kevin King said in a post on the Verizon Terremark blog.

The Verizon Enterprise corporate communications director said Thursday companies should take note of the specific solutions offered, the point of contact between company and provider and the services’ value to the business.

King listed the following considerations when selecting a cloud service from among the many available providers:

  • Technology solutions that can be fitted to meet particular business needs;
  • A point of contact to talk with about business needs and challenges;
  • The offered services’ value or impact to the business during transition.

“Breaking out of some of the popularized thinking about cloud will help companies focus on how cloud technology plus cloud services truly move enterprises forward,” King said.
