EMC has unveiled a new enterprise-grade big data offering equipped with Pivotal HD that seeks to combine analytics capabilities and a highly scalable infrastructure.
The new Data Lake Hadoop storage arrays include EMC Isilon X410 nodes that have been preconfigured for quick deployment as well as the SQL-compliant Pivotal HAWQ query tool for HDFS file systems, the two companies said Tuesday.
“We’re delighted to marry the highly complementary capabilities from EMC and Pivotal,” said Todd Paoletti, vice president of product marketing at Pivotal.
“We provide all the necessary software and hardware to create and leverage the modern data lake, enabling big data capabilities that are becoming essential to how businesses run and succeed today.”
According to EMC’s Sam Grocott, vice president of product management and marketing, Isilon Storage Division, the Hadoop big data bundle offers enterprises “efficiency and cost benefit” gains and comes with round-the-clock technical support.
