TeledyneJane Sherburne, formerly senior executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of The Bank of New York Mellon, will join Teledyne Technologies’ board of directors.

Teledyne will have 11 board members upon the addition of Sherburne on Aug. 1, the company said Wednesday.

“She has extensive experience with compliance programs, corporate governance matters, merger and acquisition activities and government affairs, and will be an asset to Teledyne as we continue with our profitable growth and strategic objectives,” said Robert Mehrabian, chairman, president and CEO of Teledyne.

Sherburne left Bank of New York Mellon in June 2014 to serve as principal of Sherburne PLLC, a crisis and regulatory consulting firm which she established before joining BNY Mellon in 2010.

She was previously a senior EVP and corporate secretary of Wachovia Corp. between June 2008 and January 2009 before she formed Sherburne.

Sherburne joined Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering in 1984 as a litigation partner before she moved to Citigroup in July 2001 as deputy general counsel and later as general counsel of the company’s global consumer business.

From 1994 to 1997, she served as special counsel to former President Bill Clinton.
