Jennifer MulvenyJennifer Mulveny, a former lobbyist for Intel in the Senate, has been named the company’s director of cloud policy and government affairs in Australia and New Zealand, ARN reported Friday.

Chris Player writes that Mulveny will work with government agencies on trade, Internet governance, privacy, security and other matters relevant to Intel’s business in the region.

Kate Burleigh, Intel’s managing director for Australia and New Zealand, said the appointment also indicates the company’s relationship with government in fostering innovation through policy development.

“At a time when technology developments are moving faster than policies can keep up, Jennifer will help educate various agencies on issues,” Burleigh said.

Mulveny previously worked at Hewlett-Packard as director of global trade policy.
