SGI will open a subsidiary based in Heidelberg, Germany that will serve as a SAP Center of Excellence to provide clients with SAP business and application services and 24/7 SAP HANA support for SGI appliances.
SGI said said Monday that Cassio Conceicao, chief operating officer, will manage the subsidiary as it prepares to begin operations on October 31.
“The new subsidiary gives SGI a dedicated presence for collaborative development of SAP solutions in the important German and European markets,” Conceicao said.
The CoE will also oversee go-to-market initiatives related to SAP in Central Europe and work to help bolster the strategic partnership between SAP and SGI.
SGI said the German subsidiary will also serve as the technical hub for SAP HANA solutions development for all SGI subsidiaries.
