The Federal Aviation Administration has approved an Avionica-made satellite data link platform for installation on Boeing 777 commercial planes.
The clearance indicates that Avionica’s platform meets RTCA/DO-262A design standards for aircraft voice and data systems designed to connect with satellites, according to Avionica.
“Our team is proud to have installed avionics in over 7,000 aircraft, with over 500 customers worldwide and 15 FAA STC’s,” said Raul Segredo, Avionica president and chief executive.
The company also offers SatLINK MAX customers an option to leverage four Iridium transceivers that are built with a dual-element antenna and multiple data and voice features.
According to Avionica, SatLINK MAX is approved for integration into Boeing 777-200, -300, -300ER, -200LR and 777F planes.
