Lockheed to Update London Police Dept’s Comms Infrastructure for $151M

Lockheed Martin has been awarded a $151 million contract to help London’s Metropolitan Police Service update a system for managing emergency and non-emergency calls, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday.

Robert Wall writes that Lockheed will help the Met Police build a new command and control system designed to support law enforcement personnel’s communication and dispatch functions.

The program marks the first modernization work on the police department’s communications infrastructure in three decades, according to WSJ.

Wall reports the company’s U.K. subsidiary will collaborate with professional services firms Capita and KPMG on the project.

Lockheed Martin UK also delivers technology for air traffic and postal service management in the country, according to Wall’s article.
