Lockheed Extends DoD Asset-Tracking Program Support; Angela Heise Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Lockheed Martin BlueLockheed Martin has received a $26.8 million follow-on contract from the Defense Department for sustainment and operations support to the Integrated Data Environment/Global Transportation Network Convergence program, run by the U.S. Transportation Command and Defense Logistics Agency.

The IGC program, which the company developed under a contract awarded in 2008, is designed to help make the supply chain visible and help DoD track military assets by using near-real-time logistics and transportation data, Lockheed said Monday.

“Situational awareness is an integral focus for any mission and part of that effort is the awareness of asset locations and deliveries,” said Angela Heise, vice president of enterprise IT solutions at Lockheed’s information systems and global solutions unit.

The company said IGC provides both classified and unclassified information to support joint force commanders in making decisions.
