electronic health record EHRCraneware has bought Kestros Ltd. for $2.08 million in a move to bolster Craneware’s presence in the patient access market, Daily Record reported.

Scott McCulloch writes that Edinburgh-based medical billing software developer Craneware plans to expand the use of Kestros’ technology platform from the National Health Service Trusts to the growing healthcare market.

“This investment will strengthen our patient access product family and importantly will give us the platform for our first gateway product in this area,” Keith Neilson, Craneware CEO, told the publication.

Craneware will also integrate the Scottish technology firm’s technologies into its medical necessity technology products, according to the report.
