EMC has unveiled the first EMC Federation suite that works to deliver an automated, virtual data center as a service, accelerate time-to-deployment of applications and support orchestration workflows.
The company said Thursday the Federation Software-Defined Data Center Solution is the first of five offerings under EMC Federation, which comprises EMC II, VMware, RSA and Pivotal.
Ray O’Farrell, corporate senior vice president for cloud infrastructure R&D at VMware, said the suite works to facilitate operational efficiency, security, availability and service delivery.
Jointly engineered at the EMC Federation Lab, the SDDC suite aims to leverage management and orchestration, hypervisor, networking, storage, data protection, hybrid cloud deployment, platform-as-a-service, documented reference architectures and associated hardware products..
The offering also includes guides and workflows, a reference architecture as well as a joint services and support model, the company added.
EMC noted it will offer the SDDC through Platinum-level partners in its business partner program.
