Domingo Urena Raso, executive vice president for military aircraft at Airbus‘ defense and space business, said that international industry cooperation is possible to address demand for technology around the world, Defense News reported Sunday.

“Industry knows how to cooperate internationally.. there is not a program that is made only by one company as far as I remember,” Raso said during a panel at the recent 2014 NATO Industry Forum.

Aaron Mehta reports that Raso held open the possibility of partnerships between Airbus and U.S. companies like Boeing and Lockheed Martin to build new fighter jets.

The report said Airbus could see opportunities in future U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force fighter programs as the company expects its production of the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft to end by 2020.

Richard Aboulafia, vice president of analysis at Teal Group, told the publication that Airbus could potentially partner with Boeing and facilitate funds for research and development as well as a built-in local market in Europe.

Raso also plans to explore industry collaboration on cybersecurity technologies, Mehta reports.
