Cubic logoCubic Defense Applications will continue to provide support for the U.S. Navy’s data link systems used in operational missions under a $3.1 million contract from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command.

Under the project, the company will work to prolong the life cycle of SPAWAR’s AN/USQ-167 Common Data Link System by developing and testing upgraded electronic components essential to CDLS terminals, Cubic said Monday.

Mike Twyman, senior vice president for communications and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance division of Cubic Defense Applications, said CDLS provides Navy aircraft tracking functions and uses up to 15 different waveforms as a communication tool.

“We are proud to continue to support the Navy with this advanced shipboard data link system,” Twyman said.

SPAWAR awarded the contract under the procurement instrument identifier N00039-12-C-0084.
