ID.me Gets Approval to Issue 'Dot-Gov' Digital ID Credentials; Ryan Fox Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting event

ID.meID.me has won an 18-month contract to issue General Services Administration digital identity credentials for stakeholders to access government agency websites.

Individuals will be able to log in to Connect.Gov shared cloud service using GSA’s Federal Identity, Credential and Access Management-approved credentials, ID.me said Wednesday.

“The Connect.Gov initiative allows individuals verified through ID.me to utilize one set of digital credentials across a broad network of commercial and public sector resources, which will both reduce the burden placed on agencies and improve the user experience,” said Ryan Fox, ID.me chief product officer.

The State Department, Department of Veterans Affairs, Agriculture Department, GSA, National Institute of Standards and Technology and other agencies also plan to accept commercially issued credentials for Connect.Gov.

ID.me also designed its digital identity network to help end-users control third-party access to their personal data, the company says.
