Raytheon Evaluates Gallium Nitride Tech for Space Applications; Paul Ferraro Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Raytheon logo_EbizRaytheon has tested its Gallium Nitride technology for applications in the Earth's orbit.

The company demonstrated the GaN monolithic microwave circuit to evaluate the system's radiation hardness requirement for space environment, Raytheon said Wednesday.

Paul Ferraro, Raytheon’s vice president of technologies programs Raytheon’s integrated defense systems business, said the GaN technology is already integrated into defense systems for land, sea and air missions.

“Now that our GaN is validated for space, Raytheon customers can use this game-changing technology in a wide variety of space-based applications,“ Ferraro added.

Raytheon developed the GaN MMICs system at its Andover, Massachusetts-based foundry.
