Raytheon logo_EbizRaytheon plans to open a Cyber Innovation Center in the U.K. as part of a push to grow its global cyber research, development and test footprint and expand its investment in the country.

Raytheon said Tuesday the center will operate as a hub for research, development and innovation work and house more than 100 professionals in the cyber field.

Richard Daniel, CEO of Raytheon UK, said the company will work with partners such as academia and other contractors on vulnerability research and software development to support cyber operations.

“The cyber threat extends globally and the opportunities for innovative solutions are global as well,” said Lynn Dugle, president of Raytheon’s intelligence, information and services business.

She added that the new CIC builds on Raytheon’s network of cyber centers around the world.
