Dan Nelson Joins Lockheed as Media Relations VP

Lockheed-Martin-BlueDan Nelson, formerly communications strategies lead at General Electric's digital energy business, has joined Lockheed Martin as vice president of worldwide media relations.

He will report to Jennifer Whitlow, senior VP of corporate communications, and serve as Lockheed's chief spokesperson and adviser to senior executives on media engagements, Lockheed Martin said Monday.

Nelson will also be responsible for the company's global media relations program and external communications strategy development efforts.

He most recently led General Electric's strategies to promote the business, managed executive communications, initiated employee engagement activities and handled reputation issues.

The 22-year communications veteran served as a spokesperson at the Justice Department, Commerce Department and the White House before he joined General Electric in 2007.

Caron Ward, formerly director of LMI's program and implementation management practice, has been named executive vice president of customer experience and delivery engagement at McLean, Virginia-based federal consulting services provider IronArch Technology. She previously supported multiple engagements with government clients and worked at Hewlett Packard and IBM earlier in her career.
