Exelis-logo, ExecutiveMosaicExelis has embedded new application program interfaces into the company’s applications and systems for users to access the Helios platform.

The Helios4Forecast, Helios4Apps and Helios4Enterprise APIs are designed to help weather forecasters, product managers and logistics operations managers view data on weather conditions through Helios, Exelis said Tuesday.

“Our APIs… [allows] our customers to look at solving problems caused by weather in a very different way,” said Brian Bell, Exelis Helios product manager.

Helios works to process images from various public and private traffic and web cameras to generate information products.

Exelis developed the APIs also to help users develop their own weather applications and enhance existing products.
