Lockheed Martin BlueLockheed Martin has provided the U.S. Navy with the first electronic Consolidated Automated Support System that works to troubleshoot and fix the avionic components of the service’s aircraft fleet.

The Navy can use eCASS, which will be deployed at aircraft intermediate maintenance depots and aboard aircraft carriers, to test the fleet’s operational readiness, Lockheed said Wednesday.

Randy Core, director of enterprise test solutions at Lockheed’s mission systems and training unit, said that the automated testing system supports the need to bolster aircraft availability.

The company noted that the total Navy eCASS order is for 38 stations, plus a potential add-on of 29 stations.
