090326-N-0000X-001Lockheed Martin has subcontracted Marotta Controls to build power conversion units for an air-launched missile technology intended to help U.S. military users locate and defeat enemy vessels.

Marotta said Friday it will produce multiple power converters for integration into the Long-Range Anti-Ship Missile‘s avionics system.

LRASM is a collaborative project of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force.

Marotta aims to design LRASM power converters that have thermal management, minimal weight and energy conversion efficiency features.

The firm has provided its technology for the U.S. Army‘s M299 missile launcher modernization.
