Research Firm ExecRank Puts GovCon Leaders on ‘Top CIO for 2014' List

world blue mapResearch and advisory firm ExecRank has unveiled its annual list of 250 of the “Top CIOs for 2014,” a ranking of chief information officers across all industries that evaluates these leaders across 24 different categories.

For this exercise, ExecRank says it developed a series of algorithms over three years to measure executive performance and predict future executive and company performance.

This year’s list contains several chief information officers or executives with an equivalent title at some of the government contracting industry’s largest firms.

GovCon executives selected to ExecRank’s list include (in alphabetical order):

  • Cora Carmody of Jacobs Engineering Group
  • Ted Colbert of Boeing
  • Henry Debnam of Harris Corp.
  • Jeff Kubacki of ATK
  • Rebecca Rhoads of Raytheon
  • Doug Tracy of Computer Sciences Corp.

ExecRank evaluated more than 10,000 CIOs in the U.S. and sought to highlight CIOs that help boards of directors make IT a primary item on their agendas.

Ben Fried, CIO at Google, was selected for the top position in this year’s ranking and the top five also includes Jim Dubois of Microsoft, Theresa Edwards of Delta Air Lines, Tony Scott of VMware and Stuart McGuigan of Johnson & Johnson.
