DRS Technologies has unveiled a new product accreditation program in an effort to highlight the original equipment manufacturers’ products that incorporate DRS’ thermal imaging technologies.

The Powered by DRS Technologies accreditation is open to OEMs that integrate DRS’ Tamarisk thermal imaging camera modules, infrared detectors and thermal systems into their products, DRS said Monday.

Todd Brown, senior director for worldwide sales and marketing for DRS’ commercial infrared systems business, said the accreditation program aims to help end-users identify products with infrared imaging components from DRS.

DRS’ commercial infrared systems division will begin to refer security systems business to accredited OEM products as part of a strategic shift.

The company will also discontinue direct sales and marketing of its WatchMaster IP thermal security camera systems.
