IBM has introduced a fresh analytics platform offering for customers in the energy and utility sector with the goal of helping companies integrate the technology into their energy ecosystem.
Brad Gammons, general manager of energy and utilities industry at IBM, said the company intends for the new offering to help clients “automate complex decision-making that translates into near-real-time insights for energy companies.“
The platform combines data integration and visualization software with analytics for users to schedule maintenance and repairs.
IBM also designed the product to help customers implement predictive maintenance, evaluate asset health and assess risk through a display of asset history, maintenance records and operating condition data.
“IBM Insights Foundation for Energy centers on the idea that the energy and utilities industry is undergoing a fundamental transformation from generation to supply,“ Gammons said.
