Tory Bruno, CEO of United Launch Alliance, has said ULA will adopt new business strategies as the company aims to stay ahead in the space launch services market, Reuters reported Friday.

Andrea Shalal writes ULA, a Boeing and Lockheed Martin joint venture, seeks to grow its customer base to include commercial firms and reduce cycle time at ULA’s launch sites by half.

“Like any business, when the environment changes, you have to change with it in order to stay relevant,” Bruno told Reuters.

He added the company is looking to establish an a-la-carte pricing system for government and commercial clients and will provide details of its planned “next-generation” rocket with a Blue Origin-built engine in April, according to Shalal’s article.

Shalal writes ULA is the sole current provider of space launch services to the U.S. military, but the Air Force could soon approve SpaceX to compete for military launch work.
