Concurrent Technologies Corp. has moved its Pittsburgh operations in Pennsylvania from the Regional Enterprise Tower to the Energy Innovation Center to work closer to potential partners in academia and the energy sector.

The company said Thursday it is the first tenant in the center, where the Connelley Trade School used to stand until it closed in 2004.

“I think that Pittsburgh Gateway’s plans to re-engineer the former school as a green building housing academic, business and nonprofit organizations are also remarkable,” said Ed Sheehan Jr., president and CEO of CTC.

“We are pleased to continue to maintain a downtown Pittsburgh location and contribute to the vibrancy of the region.”

CTC Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer John Bartholomew will serve as the company’s point of contact for the new office.

The Energy Innovation Center seeks to bolster energy-related research and innovation work as well as urban economic revitalization and entrepreneurship in the region, Bartholomew said.
